About Simpson Equine Management Services (SEMS)

Simpson Equine Management Services (SEMS) is a training facility for Arabian horses. We specialize with all In-Hand horses, mostly active with halter horses. We pride our program here at SEMS with the turn out of each and every horse that enters into the show ring and the results that each and every horse has while being in our care. The program centers around 4 major components that are the equation for success:
1) THE HORSE: We have been successful at this point because of the quality of horses that clients have brought to us. There is only so much that can be done by us or by anyone that can make a horse better. When a horse has been bred with quality in mind and that breeding comes to fruition that is something that is in the hands of God. We have been blessed with the talent that has come into our barns and we thank each and every client for these special horses.
2) TRAINING: We believe that with proper training and attention to detail that a horse will be able to maximize their talent when given the chance. It is our goal to put a strong foundation behind each horse that will allow the horse to prosper both physically and mentally when pushed to higher limits. This foundation will also allow the horse to have stronger ties with people after they are out of our care.
3) CONDITIONING: SEMS has a high standard set on the conditioning of halter horses and any In-Hand horses. With a proper conditioning program that is set to allow each horse to grow stronger by the day in all categories, we feel this is what will allow the horse to show the part of the "hard stand up" that is sought after in the states. Each horse is set to a program that consist of workouts on the treadmill, the pony field, the free lunge arena, the hot walker, the round pen, and the wonderful turn out field. All horses will change their routine daily so they can stay fresh with the program that they are on. The conditioning program at SEMS is set up to allow the horse to start at a low level of stress when it arrives, increase the stress of the workout as it continues to prepare for the show, and then refresh the week before the show.
4) NUTRITION: There are many factors that are used into determining the state that a horse is at when they are in our program. We keep track of the horse’s weight, hair coat, feet, and energy levels daily to evaluate how a horse is doing nutritionally. Weekly these horses are checked to see how they have progressed from the week before, or if they need changes in any of these areas for maximum nutrition.
